"How do I look?" is a question that many of us have asked someone at some point in time. Although some of us wouldn't admit it, dress attire is actually very important, and with great reason. A person's dress attire is their representation to the world and usually stands as a first impression.

I was sitting in an interview, a very important interview to my career, by the way, when I realized the major role fashion and style play into society. Fashion and style work hand-in-hand and say so much about someone.

Fashion refers to the culture of dressing, while style focuses on the form of expression. Chanel, Dior, Oscar de la Renta and Kevin Hall are among the many artists who have created clothing and accessory empires.

The craftsmanship of their designs are adored and worn by so many people around the world. However, fashion and style go way beyond the expensive labels.

Fashion and style are meaningless without true presentation.

I believe and always have that great pride and effort should be put into what you wear. It's not about whether you're wearing Gucci or a no-name brand. A fancy label does not equal style and class. Instead, it's about how one presents their self in a garment of clothing and how that person puts it together.

Whether you're walking into a classroom, a boardroom or a party, your clothing tells a story about you. It may seem unfair, but that's just how it is. When you're looking for that dream job, it's important to be dressed to expected standards. If you look a mess then how can you expect to be hired or even taken seriously?

You don't have to treat every singe day like a fashion show. Some people just don't care about getting fussy over dress attire everyday. And truly, there's nothing wrong with that.

Sometimes a big, comfy sweatshirt is the clear choice of outfit for the day, especially in Michigan's winter weather. However, theirs is something wrong with throwing on some funky, dirty-looking sweatshirt to class when you could have easily put on a clean, warm sweater.
