With such a wide range of supporters, the film festival's success can easily be seen. Jeffrey Montgomery, Executive Director of the Triangle Foundation, explains one reason for the event's overwhelming success.
"Part of the excitement of Reel Pride is the opportunity to see films as they are meant to be seen: on the big screen, in the dark. These days we settle for an iPod screen or the small TV window to view film, which diminish the encounter that the filmmaker has created for us."
The film festival isn't just a must-see event for members of the LGBT community. With star-studded films such as "Suffering Man's Charity" including Anne Heche and David Boreanaz, and "The Picture of Dorian Gray," featuring David Gallagher, movie lovers whether straight, gay, or bisexual will find a flick that peaks their interest.
"There's something for everyone. The myriad stories that come out of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender experience will be represented on the big screen," added Montgomery.
The week-long Gay and Lesbian Film Festival makes it easy for fans to attend the event. Unlike others, this occasion spans over several days, providing everyone with a chance to attend. To find out more about the festival as well as ticket information, visit reelpridemichigan.org.
