If you want to go out with your friends and listen to a good live band, I have a great place for you to try if you haven't already- Charlie's, located at 2075 Fort Street, at the corner of Fort and Northline in Wyandotte.

Charlie's is one of the few places downriver I know of that offers a live band that doesn't do stale old songs-they do current stuff, good dance music both fast and slow, with everything from Nelly to Evanescence.

The band is called the Johnny Bee Band. The lead female vocalist, Rachel, has an incredibly vast vocal range and pulls off a lot of songs most singers wouldn't even try.

The dance floor is usually crowded but not too crowded-there is always enough room for more. The crowd ranges from 21-50, with most being in their 20's and 30's.

Charlie's offers karaoke on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays. The karaoke usually draws a good crowd and there are over 20,000 songs to choose from.

The band plays on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays (there is a $1.00 cover charge on these nights only).

Wednesday is ladies night and there are drink specials, etc. for the gals.

Charlie's is having a Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 30 with prizes for the best costumes and free food, so come on down if you're looking for someplace that offers good live music and plenty of atmosphere.
