It was a night filled with laughter, fun and singing - but no instruments. Last Wednesday, the Student Activities Board brought the professional ensemble Chapter 6 to campus. Chapter 6 is an a cappella group of six men hailing from Decatur, Illinois. With six vocalists and one arranger, Chapter 6 has been performing together for more than six years and has toured all over the United States and Canada.
Comedian Bryan McCree has been seen on HBO, Comedy Central, Mad TV and has appeared in concert with Sinbad, the Isley Brothers and Cameo. But last Thursday, McCree performed in the University of Michigan-Dearborn's University Center for students. McCree is originally from Flint, which is the fourth most dangerous city in America.
Recycling has always been a viable option when getting rid of used or old materials. On campus, recycling has been made widely available for students. In different offices of the University Center, there are green boxes that are made for old papers, newspapers and magazines to be thrown in.
The University of Michigan-Dearborn chapter of Amnesty International held their third annual Darfur Fast-A-Thon last Thursday in Kochoff Hall. Dinner was provided by UM-D's Muslim Student Association and Thaqalayn Muslim Association. Chapter President Wafa Ali welcomed guests and gave a brief history of the organization and its choice to focus on Darfur.
